Fashion is a big part of the emo subculture, as it is a very effective way of expressing oneself. With fashion you can come across as cute, aggressive, shy, flirty, artistic or a myriad of other styles. Which brings me to my topic: emo skirts.

What constitutes an emo skirt, you ask? The answer is simple. Any type of skirt that expresses an ideal, or a feeling, which might sound like a lot for a simple piece of material. But trust me, skirts can be a powerful fashion statement.

Of course, there are no set rules when it comes to the kind of skirt that you decide to wear. And most skirts out there are a combination of elements from all different styles. It all comes down to personal choice.

These skirts generally consist of a number of layers, frills and bows. They can be any color, but generally pinks, purples, softer colors teamed with lace, ribbons and fluffy petticoats. A good collection of emo fashion is non-gender specific. Males and females can be found wearing any of the clothing. There are some fashion trends that are specifically emo girl or emo boy related but emo guys like to experiments with their self that is different from normal.
